Information Integrity

When information integrity is honored the information produced should be unchanged from its source and should not be accidentally or intentionally modified, altered, or destroyed. The internet is full of misleading and malicious information that is created when users do not properly follow the guidelines of information integrity. Information Integrity can also be referred to Data Integrity.

Integrity

Integrity has two main definitions. One is that it is the adherence to moral and ethical principles and the other is the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished. So according to these definitions such information must be created with a certain level of honesty in accordance with the labeled function of the information.

Online Ethics

The level of ethical accountability is significantly lower on the online environment compared to real world ethics. The online environment is the easiest domain to create and spread misleading or malicious information due to the lack of security.
