Comment #1: Matt, I think you did a really good job of explaining your Avatar on facebook and what you use it for. I thought the chart was a nice touch, and I can definitely relate to the part about letting your friends and family build your profile for you by posting pictures. That being said, I think your section "Thanks For Creating My Photo Album" might benefit from a few things. The first thing I think might help would be to add photos that you allow to remain on your profile. Not only do these photos say something about you, but by allowing them to stay up, you are saying something about the way you want to be seen. It might be useful for the reader to see the type of picture you would leave up. You give an example of what sort of pictures you take down, and I think this is important to your piece. It is important to know what sort of photos are eliminated, and why they are eliminated. However, it is also important for the reader to know why you might leave a certain picture up, and what you might want people to think because of this.

I really like the "Press Release" theme. I really got what you were trying to say here and I think you explained your reasoning for this sort of posting well. On the physical side of the writing, the only problem I saw was in the "Press Release" section. You write "unlike a business which has a osrt of social contract with his". Sort is misspelled in the middle of it. Other than that, I really enjoyed reading your work! Keep it up! Brendan Paul

Comment #2:

Your chart at the beginning of your Avatar was a really cool way to help aggregate for readers how you believe your Facebook identity is formed. However, I agree with Brendon and feel that your section regarding the 90% of content added by your Facebook connections could have been expanded or approached differently. It first read to me as though you take a hands-off approach in terms of what your friends post about you and tag you in, but then you discussed how you frequently monitor tagged images of you. I wish you would have explained a bit more about why specifically you don't share as much content - why exactly are you so passive on Facebook even though you appear to care about the content associated with you? I did, however, really like your comparison to your mom scrapbooking - it's example of how you let others assemble the "highlights" of your life that you think others would be interested in seeing. Perhaps consider incorporating your thoughts on Smith and Watson's question - does one truly have agency when assembling/monitoring their online self?
