Hi Carolyn,

I appreciate the thoughtfulness in identifying different facets of your identity and analyzing them. I also appreciate the fact that you readily identified the more "interesting" and less interesting ones on social media.

However, I do have a few questions for you. First, what prompted you to section the assignment into an accomplishment based and interest based identity? What is the justification for this/ how did you reach this conclusion?

Additionally, are your social media identities linked? If they were, what would someone think of your digital identity? Would they also view it as very fragmented and in pieces, or would they be able to put the profiles together to gain a deeper understanding of who you truly are? How does being a performer influence how you view online presentation, if at all? Does it influence you to post differently, as if playing a role?

Knowing the answers to some of these questions would help to create a more authentic, personalized understanding of how you approach your data identity. Hope these questions are helpful to your revision!

Hannah Foster Hi Carolyn! This is a nicely written piece, I think both your narrative and your ideas help captivate the reader. I love how open you are because it makes you relatable -- so many of us are guilty of telling half truths online to cultivate an ideal online identity (like being elected president when you were unopposed!) Also, you have a very well developed voice which makes reading and understanding your points very easy. I really like the way you section your writing into different pieces of your identity, the same way a voyeur online might piece together who they think you are. I do think there's room for a little more data on yourself-- look into what data brokers have to say about you! You may be surprised at what you found. I think you have a nice theme that you've developed in your first section about how so much of your online identity may be outdated or inaccurate -- I wonder if you could expand that to your other sections and pull some ideas/support from the class readings to create a stronger more consistent and thesis in your writing. Overall well done!
