Carmen did a pretty good job in describing how she created her avatars. While creating her self-avatar, she described the process as not only tedious, but also frustrating at times. I agree with her on both aspects. Creating your self-avatar is a pretty hard process at times because the software, i.e., evolver.com, does not have everybody's features in it. I had the same problem in creating my avatar, except I did not get very frustrated. Carmen also did a profound work and gave detailed description of how she created her body features on her self-avatar. For example, while she was trying to find her apparels for her avatars that she wears on a daily basis, she found blue and gray sweats, blue and gray sweatshirts, and tennis shoes. After picking out the clothing, she said it was a relatively easy process because the clothes she found resembled him quite a bit in real life. Other features like finding the right eyebrows and hair were a more tedious process because Carmen could not find the exact hair and eyebrows that matched him after playing around with the features on evovler.com. I liked how she described in detail why finding the exact hair and eyebrows that matched him were hard. In this context, I also agree with her that evolver.com needs more features, such as a more customizable feature to adjust eyebrows. Now, with her fantasy avatar, I liked how she used her outside source with "Dance Central" on xBOX Kinect. She admires how avatars are able to dance in the game very well, so she tried to make her fantasy avatar look like an avatar in the game. A few things I think she could improve on from this project is that describe "Dance Central" in a little more detail. Give us more insight on the different characters, the features they possess, and what made him want to design a character like Eva, etc. Moreover, she could also relate the game with the creation and use of avatars in virtual environments in a little more detail. Overall, however, this project was well done and the summary were explained in a clear and detailed manner.

I think that Carmen did a great job describing the challenges that using the computerized program presented to her in creating her personal avatar. I also ran into the same issues as Carmen with the selection of the different skin colors changing the appearance of the facial features. She also did a good job of mentioning the limitations that the program placed on creating the avatar, such as the small number of options for hair and the frustrations with only being able to randomly select a butt shape because it limited you to a frontal view. I also found it interesting that she mentioned the clothing as being the easiest part of the avatar creation because she wears the same outfit so often, it has become part of her identity. In creating a fantasy avatar, I thought that it was interesting that she created an avatar that she already knew in a digital environment. She also created the fantasy avatar that had a personality that she wished she had.. basically more swagger. I think that Carmen wanted her fantasy avatar to be as unique as possible by including grey eyes coupled with a dark complezion. Overall, I think she did a great job communicating her thought process throughout the experience.
