Anish:

This was a very well written, concise, and effective article. You eloquently summed up exactly what was asked of you for this Wiki article and also provided relevant photos to supplement your article.

I enjoyed your introduction and how you provided a brief background of yourself in order for us to get a feel for who you are as a person so that we understand what your results might have left off. Compared to myself, it seems your results were actually a little more eye-opening, thus really interesting. I feel like your article would've benefitted from you going into the unique-ness of your name and how that might make it easier for the Google algorithm or the Databroker website to pick you out of a pool of other people.

I also enjoyed the story of you finding out about a relative that you never had. That's something you might want to expand a little more on because it was really interesting!

The way you sectioned off your article and your organization in general was really good. With a few minor tweaks and fixing a couple of grammatical errors I think this would be perfect! Good job!

Hi Anish! I enjoyed your article very much. You gave us a wonderful introduction of the aspects of your true identity and seamlessly shifted into your online data profile. It was interesting learning about you and how your results were close to what you made purposefully public. I enjoyed how you touched on privacy in your conclusion, and I think you could expand even more on this topic, connecting your data results to an a concept we discussed in class (or something related!). Overall, you did a great job, it was effective and made sense. Excited to see the changes you make! - Maya Balaji

Anish, I think you did a great job breaking down how easy it was to find yourself on Google and how that made you feel. Your voice was easily heard through your concerns and worries about how easily you found a lot of information about yourself through pretty simple searches. One thing you could improve with would be to include something from the readings related to ease of information. Being able to find yourself that easily is definitely scary and shows how powerful modern technology can be. If you connect that point back to one of the readings and tie that together with your Google search results, it could improve your post. Nice job!

Hi Anish,

I relate to your article in that I have never made a conscious effort to obscure my online identity in order to hide my data from data brokers and other data compilation websites. I wrote about the same thing in fact, but my case was slightly different as I actually had a very difficult time finding any relevant, accurate or important information about myself. I also think it's really funny that you wrote about the multiple profiles issue on linkedin when prompting with a search of your name, since my name yielded hundreds of people with the same name as me (again something I also mentioned in my profile). I was really fascinated by your example regarding the phone book. Not only is it strange that you apparently have a relative that your parents know but you have never heard of before, but also that google seemed to know about it before you did. I think your example here did a great job at showing just how much the internet really knows about us (information that we may not even know about ourselves yikes), and how easily accessible that information about is without our knowledge of it even being publicly available. My one main critique for your profile would be that I would love to have seen one of the in class readings regarding information privacy, what privacy means to you, and perhaps even truth lies and bullshit, being mentioned in your profile since you make some pretty good connections to the concepts with real life examples. Also, maybe make a stronger point out of the fact that online presences that you created and forgot about still live within the public's reach on the internet and how that can be problematic in the long run for someone. Besides that, I appreciated how your examples went along with your profile and found it quite engaging.

Hi Anish, Your intro was really straight-to-the-point which I think was really effective. Like I said in discussion, I think you would benefit from a change in your formatting to make it a bit more different from the crowd's. I would also add pictures that are more unique to you. I would also try to tie in more concepts from class for your revision. Good job!
