I have a similar situation as you when I tried to search myself on google. Besides this, I have the similar as you that if people are trying hard to find information about me, they will find it eventually. I like the fact that you are trying to find out the reason why there are so limited information about you online. I think basic information is unfortunately hard to be not exposed, such as phone numbers and email address. However, other private information is for us to choose whether we want the world to know. It is always a good habit to check before posting anything online. I found your statement has a logical structure ins stating what you found about yourself in the Internet and in Data Broker. And then you tried to dig out why your digital identity appeared like this. I think you can think about what other medias could potentially related to your data identity except social media.

I enjoyed the narrative structure of this document; I think this assignment is a lot more powerful if you can figure out how to tell a story. You did a good job of that, here. You effectively detail your journey from trying (and failing) to find information about yourself via google to falling back to the paid broker report. The use of images was effective in this context--if you can't find any of yourself online, then it doesn't necessarily make sense to include any in the reflection.

You mentioned you were striving for privacy from your family, but didn't really explain why. I understand if the answer is personal, although it might make the document more interesting if you provide one anyway--even if it's vacuous.

Given the lack of information about you online, the conclusion you draw about yourself is pretty limited. That said, it might help to introduce this 'real verses digital' divide earlier, since it's seemingly a large part of the assignment.

I liked your overall statement and nicely outlining your process of trying to find yourself. I like the fact that you provide background information about what you did and did not know about data brokers and your overall thinking about "if people want information, they will get it by any means." However, I see that you actively try to prevent your family from seeing anything you are tagged in or anything you post by changing your privacy settings and view settings to posts on Facebook. I agree with Bryce's comments about this above, in that you should add things like why you do this, even though it may be private as is will add more insight into why you, or the data brokers, were not able to find you. You could also talk about the effect of changing these privacy settings, so your parents cannot see your profile, has on other people trying to find you, like yourself and the data brokers.

Also, in your implications section, you can talk about other ways that your privacy customization can have a negative effect on old friends trying to find you, or maybe even an employer trying to search and gain more information about you.
