Tianshuo Yan's Comments

Hi Roland,

I really enjoyed reading your online data identity statement. The introduction part is kind of unique, having a father who is familiar with ICT, you have a different sight other than the average people since very young, which perfectly gives an explaination of your behaviors in the digital world. I like how you set up your analysis by first talking about your expectations, then walking the reader through the process you took of many different search queries. In fact, my situation is somewhat similar to yours. I did not find a lot useful information when using my real world identity to search. However, your "or not" part makes your story catch my view. Using the digital identity (or the social media account) returns a lot useful information about a person. I think that was effective in highlighting your thesis and gave you a great landing point for analysis on its implications. You did a great job analyzing the privacy policy of Reddit and connect it with the reading Social Dilemma. One suggestion is that you could write more about how this social account reflects your personal information and further describe how easy it is to find the connection between your social account with your real world identity. Maybe this way could better reflect your point. Overall,it is a great job analyzing the online information about your data identity!
