Hi Nicole - I enjoyed reading your insights about your Facebook profile! First, I like that you describe how you think Facebook has changed from people posting about personal updates and feelings to posting about more general updates and events, and how you went against this trend. Although I knew what you meant, you described the more personal posts as "those kind of posts". Here, I think you could have been more detailed about what you were referring to. I also thought you did a nice job showcasing the way you changed - by not spending as much emotional effort on curation and how this change didn't just occur online, but in your daily life as well, showing it was an authentic part of your identity. Overall, I thought you brought up really interesting points like the "burden of curation", but I thought you could have added more sections and gone deeper into your reflection of other elements of Facebook besides posts. Good work! - Joana

Hi Nicole,

I liked how you first analyzed the trends for the type of content people post on Facebook in general and then related that to your personal Facebook use and how it has not followed that same course. It gave a good starting context to compare to. It was also interesting to read your self-evaluation of why you think your posting style and overall habits have changed over time and how you incorporated this idea of the “burden of curation”. I would have like to hear your thoughts on that more and how if that has applied to any other aspects of your social media presence.

As you talked a lot about your audience and also mentioned the concept of potential employers evaluating you based on the content you post I was wondering—do you keep everything you post to Facebook public or private to only your Facebook friends? And if you have kept things public did you ever consider changing your privacy settings on some or all of your post? Though simply changing privacy settings to no longer be public would have only stopped employers or other people you weren't already friends with from seeing your content, do you think that would have made you change the way you used Facebook earlier on?

Great work!

Hi Nicole, I liked how you first analyzed the trends for the type of content people post on Facebook in general and then related that to your personal Facebook use and how it has not followed that same course.
