Hi Maximilian, I chose to comment on your autobiographical statement because I appreciated the creativity of your writing. I appreciated your unique use of the analogy of being a director of the presentation of self that appears on your Facebook, and liked that the structure of your statement is similar to that of a movie review. The structure of the writing created a nice flow of content across the different sections.

You wrote clearly and concisely. The idea that you share articles and interact with content true to your identity so long as that content is written and presented appropriately is easily understood. From your statement I gather that you have no intention of being untrue to your identity when you choose not to post or interact with certain, more risqué content, even if it resonates with you. You are simply conscious of the fact that other people, for example potential employers, can and will makes judgments about you based on the content in your Facebook profile, and I can appreciate and respect your effort to prevent possible negative impressions. People do this in real life as well, it is just harder to curate your image in real time.

Because you admit that you sometimes curate your content online, I think it makes your assessment of your identity on Facebook more genuine and believable to readers. Despite a couple of unsubstantial grammatical errors (i.e. in the pictures section, the wrong tense of become is used), I think your statement overall was well and creatively written.

Best, Colleen

Hi Maximilian,

Once again, you have produced a piece that really captivated me and also suffices for this assignment. You have evaluated your Facebook and I think at first you describe yourself as sincere but also disclosed that you will share what you are comfortable with. You highlight different sections of your Facebook by describing what you are comfortable posting but at the same time being cautious. You also mention what you don't like when it comes to posting. Your approach is rewarding in the sense that you acknowledge that employers may have access to your social media. You mention that you have been changing your profile pictures more often too all of which really delve into your activity on Facebook.

Throughout your page, I noticed how you like include creative writing and at the same time, you are direct and concise. I like the dialogue that you have with yourself on the page. It is an interesting style of writing and one that a lot of people shy away from. However, you have done an excellent job incorporating it.

Lastly, your overall content was precise and enjoyable. I can only conclude that you are genuine with your writing because you share what you like and what you don't like. It is this form of writing that allows me to accept your page as sincere and accurate. Once again, thank you for your evaluation.

Best, Dennis
