Overall A very strong blogpost!! Your intro was really engaging and I liked how you linked your own personal experiences with factual information, it created a really nice flow. Contrasting what the data showed when it was searched through a data broker vs when you were searched on Google is really interesting way to highlight the diversity of ways that data can be searched. Really great article overall!!

I can relate a lot to your intro. I too had parents that were always telling me to be careful with what I post on social media, that actually kinda created kinda like a fear inside me to post things in platforms where my identity is not anonymous. Funny enough, as a result, you google my name and it seems I’ve never existed.

In general, your work was very well structured and informative, definitely one of my favorite ones so far. You showed a lot of detail in your observations of what was found of you in both the data broker site and the google search and it is interesting that you bring the privacy laws that are present within the EU as a reason that you feel there might be a scarcity of information of you out there. It’s interesting that the data broker website found something about you and of another person from Spain since those websites aren’t too favorable for finding information about people that were born outside the US like myself. Besides the laws present in the EU I think it could also be due to the data broker just focusing on the US in general. I do think that that the EU privacy is a possible reason for why there is not much info about you but I would encourage you to consider other possibilities such as your online activity while in the US vs while you were back in Spain. Overall this is a great job you’ve done here and it really needs hardly any improvement.

Best,

Juan Sanchez
