Plot Summary

Set in a future world, a young man, Vincent Freeman, who is of inferior genetic make up. He was a naturally born baby, something rare in this world where genes are systematically manipulated to create more perfect humans. Vincent seeks a better life for himself, as he is designated as an inferior human, and assumes the identity of a genetically acceptable man, Jerome Morrow. Morrow is unable to leave his house and validate his own identity because he is a paraplegic as a result of an accident. Vincent's motivation behind using Morrow's genes is because he wants to travel into space, but he can only do so if he is of appropriate genetic make up. Jerome helps Vincent by coaching him on how to pass screening tests where they use urine, hair, and DNA testing to validate identities. However, just before his mission is set to launch, the director is killed and Vincent jeopardizes his position by losing an eye lash at the scene of the crime. After putting himself and Jerome at risk, Vincent has to avoid arousing suspicion from others within the Gattaca Corporation to stay on the mission and keep his life.
