Complex is a multifaceted media platform for youth culture based out of New York City. It initially launched as a bi-monthly magazine, founded by fashion designer Mark Ecko in 2002, but eventually emerged as a major player in the digital field, and after the January/December 2016 issue, ceased its print operation. Online, the company reaches over 120 million unique users per month across all of its different properties, which include owned-and-operated staples such as music site PigeonsAndPlanes.com and YouTube channel Complex TV. Complex reports on fashion trends, popular culture, music, sports, sneaker releases and, most recently, politics, generally doing so with a particular emphasis on niche cultural tastes that stem from streetwear and hip-hop.
