Hey Jordan,

I thought you approached this assignment in a unique way and were successful in your execution. You were able to present anecdotal evidence and clearly show the evolution of your Facebook identity before and after competitive downhill skateboarding. I felt that we had similar viewpoints in our current uses for Facebook, especially the utilization of Facebook Groups, and how that has affected the way we privatize our online image and interact with other users on the site. I think we can agree that there are external forces - whether that be downhill skateboarding or something as broad as college - that alter the way we utilize the site.

The visual elements of your autobiography drew my attention towards your article. The format was clear and succinct, but I thought you could elaborate more on the secondary elements of your profile. You described the incentives of posting to Facebook (i.e. the promotion of self), and how that differentiated your posts in who they were projected towards, but provided limited examples of secondary elements, such as responses by friends or skateboarding peers or posts you were tagged in. Regardless, I thought you did an excellent job in the presentation of your profile and appreciated the genuine voice of the autobiography.

Hi Jordan!

I liked the way you laid out your analysis of your Facebook page! You clearly indicated the two distinct sides of your profile that you have portrayed and showed sufficient visual evidence of each. Your tone and voice were clear and made a very cohesive piece. I think your evolution of self on Facebook is very interesting it seems that everyone has had some sort evolution. Yours in particular is interesting to me because it happened in your later years rather than middle school age. I would have really like if you were able to delve a little more on what caused this rapid change in self portrayal at an older age. In terms of privacy you clearly indicated why you chose such settings for self promotion, but what makes you change these settings back now? You mention you are a strong advocate of information privacy it would be interesting to hear why you are in support of strong privacy settings.

As a whole though I think your article was clear and I was able to follow the organization. You made it very understandable about why you portrayed your two different "selves." I appreciated that you were true when you spoke of your self and it made me see that you were being authentic. I really enjoyed your piece! Good work!
