Talk:Social Networking

Coincidentally, as I am looking over the edits I made previously to the Social Networking article under privacy, I am thinking about the various ways in which anonymity shields and protects users from practical, real-world consequences. Without privacy being present in our online social identities, networking, and gaming, we are open to criticism, negative feedback, and judgment just as we are in real-world situations. Our ability to maintain privacy in our online accounts, documents, and mobile banking is what prevents identity theft, trolling, and harsh insults. While editing with attribution in a classroom setting such as SI 401 will not necessary result in criticism or harsh words since we all know and recognize each other in real life, the thought process makes you wonder how we would criticize or judge each other's articles and opinions if we did not know each other and were sitting on computers on opposite sides of the world.

I think we should consider renaming this page to Social Media or we should have a section within this page that defines the differences between Social-Networks and Social Media.
